Redevelopment see visitor traffic jump 520%
May 07 , 2008
A national body has seen its visitor traffic shoot up since a new site built by NetConstruct went live last autumn.
UKRC SET is the national Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology. The Government-funded body awarded the website redevelopment contract to NetConstruct in summer 2007, and the site went live in late autumn.
Since then, UKRC's signed-up membership has risen 40%, use of its website has increased 520% and over 80% of its business is now generated online - clearly demonstrating the success of the redevelopment and associated search engine optimisation.
The UKRC provides a central point of information and advice for industry, academia, professional institutes, education and research councils, as well as for women entering, returning and progressing in SET careers. The new website provides users with direct access to a vast research and resource database.
The UKRC is led by a partnership including the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, the Open University, Sheffield Hallam University, Queen Mary University of London, with Bradford College as the lead partner.
