20,000 YouTube Viewers Know Their Onions!

Filmed at the Harrogate Flower Show; regarded as one of the most prestigious, national flower shows in the gardening calendar; the highlights package featured a validated ‘Guinness Book of Records’ world record for the heaviest onion.

Grown by champion giant vegetable grower Peter Glazebrook, from Newark, the onion weighed in at 17lb 15.5oz breaking the previous record of 16lb 8.37oz was set in 2005.

The video featured on the Flower Show’s homepage and was hosted by YouTube, helping it to achieve the best viewing figures ever for the show – ten times their usual daily views!
